Principal's Message 2/9/25

2/9/25

Greetings Stough Families!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! This week we celebrate Bus Driver Appreciation Week! We want to take a moment to recognize the incredible drivers who ensure our students arrive safely to and from school each day. Please take a moment to show your appreciation this week!

We had a lot of exciting events take place in the Stough community last week. We'd like to thank the families who joined us in celebrating our Second Quarter P2 Award recipients this past Thursday. Your support reinforces the importance of character education and the Positivity Project in our school community. A special thanks to our PTA, whose support allows us to bring this meaningful program to our students.

This past week we also welcomed author Eleanor Spicer Rice to Stough. Ms. Rice was able to share tidbits from her newest releases with our students. We’d also like to thank our PTA for their support before and during our author visit this past Thursday. Special shoutouts to Ms. Lee, Ms. Turner and Ms. Roche! Opportunities like these give students an exciting opportunity to engage with an author and deepen their passion for reading. Additionally, this visit wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership of our Media Specialist, Ms. Galvan, who worked closely with the PTA to make it happen. Her commitment to literacy and student engagement continues to enrich our school, and we are grateful for her dedication!

Additionally, we’d like to thank the families who came out last Thursday evening to support our annual Art Show at the Blue Ridge Road State Employees Credit Union. A special thank you to Mr. McCue for his partnership with SECU and for providing opportunities to showcase student creativity beyond our school walls. Student artwork will remain on display in the lobby through Spring Break, so be sure to stop by!

And finally, it’s Super Bowl Sunday! Whether you're cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs or the Philadelphia Eagles, watching for the commercials and halftime show, spending time with family and friends, or forgoing the Super Bowl altogether, one thing is for sure, we're all Team Stallions at heart!

Please take a moment to review the updates and reminders below for additional details about what’s happening in the Stough community this week.
