Principal's Message, 6-3-22

Greetings Stough Families,

This will be the penultimate Weekly Message for 2021-22!

1.  Next week is the last week of school.  It is a five-day week for students.

2.  If your third, fourth or fifth grader missed an EOG this week, the make-up testing will occur on Monday and/or Tuesday.  Please have your students report to their regular classroom, and we will call them to their assigned settings for testing.

3.  If you opted-in for your third, fourth or fifth grader to re-test on June 14 or 15, we will contact you next week once we have EOG results about whether your student needs to come to school those days.

4.  Here's a note from Coach Hooker about Super Kids Day:

Super Kids Day is June 8th (Rain Date: June 9th).  Thank you to those who have already signed up to volunteer.  Without your help we would not be able to conduct this event.
**The weather may be hot and there is one water game, so sunscreen, water bottle, change of clothes, and a towel are recommended for your child that day.

5. Here's the last reminder about library books:

The end of the school year is coming quickly! It's time to return library books.  Students should have returned all books to the library by today. Email notices will begin coming soon, but your students can see what is checked out to them in Follett Destiny Discover in their Wake ID portal anytime.   Also, the library needs volunteers to shelve books. If you have time to help, contact Mrs. Galvan at agalvan@wcpss.net.

6.  We will celebrate our Fifth Graders on their last day of elementary school, June 10.  Fifth grade families are welcome to attend the ceremony at 10am in the gym.  A separate email will be sent to fifth grade families with further details.

7.  PTA Update:

June 10- Popsicles and Play Social

Stop by the Laurel Hills playground on June 10 from 4:00-6:00 for popsicles and play time! PTA is supplying popsicles and renting the large shelter to celebrate a great school year. Hope to see you there!

Enjoy the weekend,
Chris Cox, Principal
