Ms. Jaye Smith, Instructional Assistant

Whoo Whoo!! Are you ready for an OWLsome year? My name is Jaye Smith. I joined the Aversboro community in the spring of 2020. I am a graduate of Meredith College where I received my Bachelors of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child Development and a minor in Psychology. After graduating from Meredith, I served as a WCPSS Teacher Assistant (TA) in a developmentally delayed preschool classroom and later served as a TA in an AUII classroom. After two years as a TA, I went back to school, completed my graduate certificate in Special Education, while getting my Birth-Kindergarten license from UNC Greensboro.  I am the proud parent of my Frenchie name “Molly” and a guinea pig name “Bella”. I enjoy painting, watching food channels and fishing in my spare time.
