Meet the Second Grade Team
Del Rose Smith
My name is Elizabeth Hill. I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. I moved to Garner after graduating from college. I have been teaching at Aversboro for the past 11 years. I am honored to work with such a loving and dedicated staff. I enjoy spending time with my husband and children. In my spare time, I love to read a variety of books.
I have been teaching at Aversboro Elementary since 1994. Prior to that, I taught in my home state of West Virginia. I have taught grades 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 as well as several combination classes. The best part of being a teacher is forming bonds with my students and their families. My students inspire me every day. In my spare time I enjoy reading, hiking, spending time with my family, traveling, and watching the WV Mountaineers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and major league soccer.
I have been at Aversboro Elementary for 11 years. I have taught 5th grade, 4th grade and 2nd grade. I am from Apex, North Carolina and graduated from Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina.

As a professional, my role as a teacher is to be a facilitator and provide enriching activities so that children are supported as they learn about their strengths and work on their weaknesses.
With over ten years teaching experiences in Jamaica, I obtained my Teaching Diploma in Early Childhood Education at the St. Josephs Teachers’ College and my Bachelor’s Degree at the Western Carolina University (WCU). Teaching is a passion for me. When I am not supporting children as they embark on a journey to make discoveries about themselves and the world, I am with friends and family. I am excited about teaching at Aversboro as I seek to share my Jamaican culture with my new school family and make learning fun.
