Tiffany Stuart, Principal
I began my career in education as a high school history and social studies teacher. Over the course of the next 20 years, I experienced exciting opportunities working at all levels of education, including elementary, middle, and high school, as well as in central office. I earned both my Bachelor of Arts in History and Master’s of School Administration in Educational Leadership and Cultural Foundations at UNC-Greensboro. As a student growing up, I had the great fortune to have many wonderful and inspiring teachers. It was my high school French teacher, however, who influenced me to become an educator. I have learned that focusing on solutions when difficulty arises makes a tremendous difference! I take great satisfaction in cultivating a love of learning in both students and adults. In this ever changing world, relationships are the one thing that remain constant for me. Building relationships are paramount to student success!
When I’m away from school, I love to spend time with my husband, Brad, and our two children, Abigail and Whit. In my spare time I read, knit, travel, and enjoy the outdoors. North Carolina’s beaches and mountains, as well as our family farm in Johnston County, are some of our favorite places to relax.
Carrie Huffman, Assistant Principal
Hello Owls! I am proud to serve as the Assistant Principal at Aversboro Elementary School.
I am originally from Hopewell Junction, New York. After high school, I moved to Elon, North Carolina to attend college. In 2009, I graduated from Elon University with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
My teaching career began in Alamance County where I served as a second grade teacher at Haw River Elementary School. I looped with my class of children and taught them as third graders as well. I later taught fourth grade for four years at Cameron Park Elementary School in Orange County. Following my classroom teaching experience, I was selected as a Principal Fellow. I completed my Masters in School Administration through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I joined the Wake County Public School system in 2016 as I completed a one year full time internship at Oakview Elementary School.
When I am away from school I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have a daughter, Abigail and two spoiled-rotten dogs. We love traveling to warm places and relaxing on the beach.
I look forward to working with all of the students, families, and staff at Aversboro. Please make me aware of any questions, suggestions, or concerns you may have at email@example.com.
