Mrs. Stephanie Benner

Hello! I am very excited to be your FIFTH grade teacher in my FIFTH year at Aversboro! I grew up in New York, but have lived all up and down the east coast - and even London, England! I have a B.A. in musical theater from American University, and a M.Ed. in elementary education from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). I have taught 3rd-5th grade for most of my 10 year career, and LOVE math! I love to eat great food and travel all over the world and with my husband and two boys (Kinston and Finn). We have two dogs (Lacie and Mia) and one cat (Bella). You’ll hear a lot about all of them! I can’t wait to get to know all of you this year!

Mrs. Effie Tompkins

Hello! I am Effie Tompkins. I grew up in Raleigh, graduated from Peace College (now William Peace University)  with BA in Liberal Studies, and obtained a K-6 teaching certification from Meredith College.  I have taught many years at Aversboro Elementary School, starting in 2002.   I have had the opportunity to teach both 4th and 5th grade students. Teaching 5th grade is especially meaningful. I love watching my students mature into young people who are ready for the next transition; growing up and middle school.  I enjoy traveling with my family and my favorite animal is a turtle. I look forward to a wonderful year!
