Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Rena Keith
I am Rená Keith, and I am excited to be an official member of the Vandora Springs Elementary School family. As of August, 2022, I will be serving the students, staff, and families of VSE as a School Counselor. I believe that authentic relationships are the foundation of healthy families, schools, workplaces and communities. I believe in, and advocate for, educating the heart and mind!
I received my BS in Psychology degree from Mt. Olive College in 1999 and entered my profession in Mental Health. From 1999-2008, I worked with community mental health agencies as a Qualified Mental Health Specialist. In August of 2008, I transitioned to public education as a special education teacher. In 2013, I returned to school to connect my passions for mental health and education. I earned my M.Ed in School Counseling from Campbell University in 2015 and began serving as a School Counselor. In 2019, I began serving at the district level supporting district student services, district-wide Social and Emotional Learning Implementation and School Based Mental Health.
As a counselor at VSE, I will support our total school environment. In addition to supporting our VSE family as a whole, I will also work with students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom to sharpen their social/emotional, academic, and career skills throughout the school year.
