Are you ready for 2023-2024? It's Registration Time!
-
We are excited about starting the registration process for our students for the 2023-2024 school year!
All students need the following information - these links will start your journey!
- Link to the Course Registration Mini-Guide 2023-2024 : This includes all the course offerings for next year, as well as important information like graduation requirements, options for levels of courses, and much more. If you would like more information about course descriptions, graduation requirements, pre-requisites, etc - here is the link to the WCPSS High School Program Planning Guide.
- Link to 2nd Period Registration Schedule : This schedule will inform students when their 2nd period class is coming to the Media Center to register with Student Services staff. Current GLHS students register from March 13th - March 24th. During this time, counselors are available during Connectivity (sign up in AllTimely). Rising 9th graders should talk with their 8th grade counselors or teachers - you will work with GLHS staff in August when you join us!
- Link to the Open House Presentation : Designed with rising 9th graders (current 8th graders) and new students to WCPSS in mind - on Feburary 22, 2023 from 6:00-7:30pm, this Open House will include an information session from 6-6:30pm and self-guided tours including club information, curriculum updates and more from 6:30-7:30pm. Please click on the presentation to learn more. Please click here for a virtual school tour as a prospective student and/or families to see our facilities. Unfortunately, we don't offer individual tours due to demand but once you have registered and completed your enrollment information, Student Services staff will reach out for a meeting to select courses and you can see campus. Additionally, we will have an Open House in February and Student Orientation in August. Listen out for more information!
Course Registration Timeline for Green Level High School (Current Students):
February 13th, 27th and March 6th:
Grade Level Advisory lessons for current 11th graders, 10th graders and 9th graders in the Auditorium. We will cover the registration process, timeline, course considerations, sequencing and more. Presentations will be linked soon.
February 21st - March 24th:
During this window, counselors will be available during Connectivity for questions about registration - please sign up in AllTimely. Junior Conferences will also be taking place - counselors are available by appointment. This is strongly encouraged to sign up early to learn about the senior year, preparing for post-secondary options and reviewing course selections.
February 27th:
Current 9th-11th grade students will receive three important items in their Advisory class: An unofficial transcript, print out of the courses their teacher's recommended and a GLHS Registration Work Plan. These three items will be vital to registration March 13th-March 24th. Each student must complete the Registration Work Plan and give it to their 2nd period teacher by March 10th. This worksheet will be used to select courses when their class is scheduled to go to the Media Center.
February 28th - March 11th:
Course Registration screens open for current 8th graders in PowerSchool for students to start registering at their WCPSS middle school.
March 13th - March 24th:
Students will come by 2nd period to the Media Center to register with Student Services. We will walk through common registration questions and help with selecting courses in PowerSchool. Students have no advantage if their 2nd period comes sooner than later. This process is only taking in course selections - schedules are not made or finalized until the summer. The link to the schedule is above. Additionally, if you are a rising 11th or 12th grader interested in Wake Tech CCP or taking a schedule reduction, ex: having off a period during a semester, please complete the Schedule Reduction Form here. This needs to be completed PRIOR to June 9th, last day of classes for the 2023-2024 school year.
The Month of April:
Regularly scheduled appointments resume - This is also time for 9th and 10th graders who have lingering schedule questions. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding in this timeline!
