Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM)

  • Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM): 2025-26 Application Window
Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM) is the statewide process that allows students to earn credit for select high school courses by demonstrating mastery of course content without course enrollment or seat time.
The CDM process requires students to complete a two-phase assessment.
    • Phase One: A standard examination (which shall be the EOC where applicable), a locally developed assessment, or other district-approved assessments.
    • Phase Two: An artifact, portfolio, or assessment that requires the student to apply knowledge and skills relevant to the content standards.

The CDM application window for the 2025–26 school year will be open from October 6, 2025, to December 12, 2025.

CDM Questions should be directed to cdmquestions@wcpss.net or guffeyd@wcpss.net.
