Ms. Marsheda Vann, Teacher

My name is Marsheda Vann, and I’m a North Carolina native. I’m an empty-nester with three adult children. I began my career in education as a Kindergarten Instructional Assistant before becoming a 4th-grade teacher. I taught 4th grade in another district for four years before moving to Wake County, where I've now been teaching 4th grade at Green Magnet for nearly three years. I absolutely love what I do and feel a continued sense of joy as I watch my students achieve for their goals. Teaching is my passion, and it brings special rewards each day.

Ms. Betty Cotton, Teacher

I have been employed with the WCPSS for 23+ years. This is my third year at Green Magnet Elementary as a 5th grade teacher. In 2022-23, I was gifted the honor of becoming Wake County’s Diane Kent-Parker “First Year” Teacher of the Year recipient. I was (continue to be) so excited and thrilled about this wonderful opportunity to represent Green Magnet Elementary School. I believe that I have a great passion for teaching and being in the classroom making a difference in the lives of children.
