Mrs. Leslie Blake, Principal
Mrs. Blake was appointed Principal of Green Leadership and World Languages Magnet Elementary in January 2022. Growing up in Rockford, IL, Mrs. Blake attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After graduating in 2000, she began teaching at the elementary level. She spent 10 years in the classroom and later transitioned to the roles of Instructional Coach and Coordinating Teacher for Elementary Math with WCPSS. Most recently, Mrs. Blake served 5 ½ years as the Assistant Principal at Millbrook Environmental Connections Magnet Elementary School. She was recognized as a finalist for WCPSS Assistant Principal of the Year in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Mrs. Blake sharpens her saw by spending time with her husband of 18 years and two sons (Gabriel 15 and Greyson 9), listening to music, growing plants, and playing board games. Mrs. Blake’s educational philosophy is rooted in equity and excellence for all. She is dedicated to leading a community where her leaders feel challenged, connected, and loved.

Ms. Alexis Teasdell, Assistant Principal
Alexis Teasdell is one of the Assistant Principals at Green Leadership and World Languages Magnet Elementary. As a child she attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools and developed a passion for quality, equitable educational opportunities. Beginning in high school, Alexis began researching the correlation between family engagement and student success, as well as the impact a quality education has on the long-term well-being of students. Over the course of her career, she has worked hard to develop strategies to unify students, families, and staff under shared vision, researched best practices, perseverance, and empathy. In her spare time you can find Alexis cycling, kayaking, or reading non-fiction texts on her deck.

Mrs. Dora Moldovan, Assistant Principal
Dora Moldovan is originally from Romania, where she began her career as a kindergarten teacher. She came to the United States 20 years ago as an international teacher, bringing with her a wealth of experience in education. For the past 16 years, she has served as a special education teacher, counselor, and assistant principal with Vance County Schools.
This year, Mrs. Moldovan is excited to join the Wake County Public School System and the dedicated staff at Green Leadership and World Languages Magnet Elementary School. As Assistant Principal, her primary goal is to support and enhance the overall educational experience for students. She firmly believes that a successful school environment is built on the collaboration and shared commitment of all its members. Her aim is to work closely with all essential partners to ensure that students receive the high-quality education and support they deserve.
Outside of school, Mrs. Moldovan enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Ms. Mellisa Smith, Assistant Principal Intern
Mellisa Smith is thrilled to join Green Leadership and World Languages Magnet Elementary as an administrative intern for the upcoming school year. She is currently pursuing her Master of School Administration at UNC-Chapel Hill and brings over 20 years of experience in education. In addition to her internship, she serves as a K–12 Assessment Specialist for the district. Ms. Smith is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to the Green Elementary community while supporting students, families, and staff throughout the year.
