Ms. Jon'Nesha Stevens, Music Teacher

My name is Jon’Nesha Stevens and I am excited to begin my tenth year of teaching here at Green! I was born and raised in East Tennessee. Then, I moved to Nashville, TN to study music and education at Fisk University. While at Fisk, I successfully auditioned to become an Alto 1 in the world renowned Negro Spiritual ensemble, The Fisk Jubilee Singers. For the next four years, we toured nationally and internationally performing for elementary schools, colleges, professional organizations, and dignitaries such as Maya Angelou, many professional artists, and former President George W. Bush. I graduated in 2010 and began my masters study that same year. In 2012, I earned a Master of Music in Choral Music Education from Bowling Green State University then began teaching for the Wake County Public School System. As a music teacher it is my goal to inspire students to be their most creative and musical selves. I cannot wait to explore awesome music with you this year!
