Kingswood teachers are trained to provide an interdisciplinary approach by integrating science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in all Common Core State Standards through project-based learning. Our outdoor learning centers combine STEM concepts with Montessori based activities where students enjoy learning opportunities year round.
This time-honored educational approach offers a nurturing and supportive learning environment that develops the whole child, including social, emotional, academic, and physical needs. The curriculum is delivered using the Montessori philosophy, methods, and materials. Student-led Project-Based Learning allows students to gain knowledge and skills by investigating and responding to a complex question or challenge. Parents of students who are interested in our programs are encouraged to contact our Magnet Coordinator, Michelle Gensler. mgensler@wcpss.net
Kingswood's PK is a tuition-based program. Tuition is $6,000 for the school year. Using the Montessori multi-age philosophy, pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students are together in the same primary classroom.
Pre-K Families seeking placement at Kingswood for the 2025-26 school year will need to submit a magnet school application during the Magnet Application Window, which is October 14, 2024 - January 23, 2025. In order to submit a magnet application, you must first pre-enroll your child for the 2025-2026 school year. Pre-enrollment begins with a specific online application found here: How to register. Once we receive your completed electronic enrollment application, we will contact you to complete the pre-enrollment in person here at the school. Once fully pre-enrolled, we will issue your child’s student ID number. You will use this student ID to complete and submit a 2025-26 magnet application. The magnet application and dates can be found here. Magnet application results will be posted on February 21, 2025. Please contact our Magnet Coordinator, Michelle Gensler (mgensler@wcpss.net), if you have any questions.
