    Dear Kingswood Families,

We are looking forward to a new school year with you.  This year is quite different from previous years.  I know that our students will be cared for by our Kingswood family of educators who are interested in the very best academic and social growth for all the students at Kingswood.  Our grade levels are divided into learning teams with your child having a base teacher, which will be shared with you at our Meet the Team event on August 14th.

The first two weeks of school beginning August 17th, will focus on orientation for all of our students.  During orientation days, students will receive information about how to participate  during online instruction, will meet school staff, and review school and classroom expectations.  An Orientation schedule for your grade level will be shared during Meet the Team event.

You can expect students to participate synchronously (Live) and asynchronously (recorded instruction and tasks).  After our orientation weeks, we expect students to receive between two and three hours of live instruction daily.  A 75 minute midday break will be scheduled for lunch and movement.  We expect that students will participate in asynchronous activities for an additional two to three hours.

Attendance will be recorded for students daily for attendance in live meets and work completed and submitted.  Teachers will provide feedback and grading student work.  Teachers will be having a live meet with parents during the first two weeks of Orientation to give parents an opportunity to share information about your child/children.

We are constantly receiving updated information from the district and making decisions about our school.  We will provide any new information as soon as it is practical.  Your child’s safety and wellbeing are very important to us at Kingswood.  Let’s all be patient and understanding as we all work together for the best year of teaching and learning for your children.
