  • Kingswood is a Title I Distinguished School, the 2013-2014 Title I Reward School, an NC STEM Learning Network School, and a member of the WCPSS BYOD Cohort. Our teachers are trained to provide an interdisciplinary approach by integrating science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in all Common Core State Standards through project-based learning. Our outdoor learning centers combine STEM concepts with Montessori based activities where students enjoy learning opportunities year round.

  • This time-honored educational approach offers a nurturing and supportive learning environment that develops the whole child, including social, emotional, academic, and physical needs. The curriculum is delivered using the Montessori philosophy, methods, and materials. Student-led Project-Based Learning allows students to gain knowledge and skills by investigating and responding to a complex question or challenge. Parents of students who are interested in our programs are encouraged to contact our Magnet Coordinator, Michelle Gensler. mgensler@wcpss.net
