Spring Into Good Attendance

Beginning in March, Kingswood will encourage and celebrate good attendance with a monthly attendance competition. At the end of each month through May, whichever grade level has the highest attendance percentage will be announced and receive a popsicle party. Excused absences, like being sick, do NOT count against a grade level.

Students should stay home if they have:

  • a fever of 100.4 or higher, and can return to school after they are fever free without medication for 24 hours
  • vomiting or diarrhea, and can return after 12 hours without vomiting or diarrhea
  • an undiagnosed rash, and can return with a doctor's note stating the rash is not contagious.

Remember to send in sick notes so any absences due to illness are excused and do not count against your child's grade level in the competition. Other reasons absences are excused are a death in the family, religious observance with prior approval, a dental/medical/other appointment with prior approval, or participation in a valid educational educational opportunity, such as travel, with prior approval.

Please join us in reminding students that attendance matters every day!

See our "All About Attendance" page for more information on attendance.
