Mr. Ryan Fotta

I have had the pleasure of teaching at Joyner for over ten years now.  I enjoy guiding my students' creativity in my room and giving them the freedom to develop into the artist they want to be. I enjoy working with clay most of all since I concentrated in ceramics at East Carolina University.

Ms. Heather Scott

Heather Scott is elated to join the staff of JYJ as Music Teacher! Mrs. Scott has been teaching music for 25 years with 10 years as a full-time classroom teacher in grades K-12. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University-Bloomington, where her primary instrument was saxophone.

Ms Scott looks forward to working with every student at JYJ! Our classes will explore the foundations of music, learn about different music genres, music across the globe, ukulele, recorder, and so many more hands-on exciting musical activities! Ms. Scott is also excited to offer students the opportunity to grow beyond the general music classroom in extra-curricular Chorus.

When Mrs.Scott isn't teaching music or volunteering in her children's schools, she enjoys spending time with her son and daughter, their two cats, and golden retriever. She also loves to read, grill delicious foods, bake desserts, play poker, and finished an Ironman triathlon in 2016!

Cheers to an exciting year in music at JYJ!
