Magnet Pathway
-
This magnet program is rooted in the belief that every student has gifts and talents that are valued and nurtured through this model. Students in GT schools explore an extensive menu of electives, all of which enhance the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, and all of which are designed to develop students’ strengths and interests. Through this structure, students have the opportunity to customize their academic programs by choosing elective courses according to their academic needs and interests. World Language instruction and expanded visual and performing arts opportunities are available K-12.
High School: EnloeWashington has been a part of the magnet program for many years. The Gifted and Talented (GT) Pathway maintains that all students have a gift or talent. Our job at Washington is to nurture the gifts and talents of all of our students. At Washington, students will be exposed to a wide range of electives that are designed to strengthen the Common Core and NC Essential Standards. Students have the opportunity to choose the electives they would like to teach. The Gifted and Talented Pathway includes Elementary, Middle, and High School opportunities. For more information about Magnet programs in Wake County and the application process, please visit wcpss.net/magnet.
