About: I grew up in the small town of Selma, NC. I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (2009) and completed my Master of Information and Library Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2018). Prior to joining the Washington family, I taught two years in fourth grade, four years in first grade, and spent three years learning and growing in the media center. I live for “ah- ha” moments; when students realize for the first time that they are readers! When I’m not collaborating with other teachers and sharing a love of books with students, I like to curl up with a good book, spend time with my family, and travel to visit friends. I am so excited to be a Wizard and call Washington home!
