ALL School Message for Sunday, June 7, 2015

This is Tripp Crayton, Principal at Wakefield High School, with your weekly announcement. As a reminder, tomorrow is the last day to make-up any and all exams or EOCs.

Report cards will be mailed from Central Services in Cary the week of June 22nd. Grades will not be accessible in PowerSchools until after that week. Official senior transcripts will automatically be sent by July 1, 2015 to the college indicated on the form at graduation practice. If you need an official transcript sent anywhere other than the admissions office of the college you indicated, you should make the request through the district website at www.wcpss.net.

Students who signed up for Pre-AP English II, AP English III, AP English IV, AP US History, AP Human Geography, AP Spanish, AP Chemistry, Precalculus, or AP Calculus are responsible for completing the summer assignments associated with those classes. Summer assignments will be found on the WHS website. Also, this is a reminder that the deadline to drop an AP course is July 24, 2015. Per the AP contract, “Failure to complete summer assignments does not provide grounds for dropping the course after July 24th.”

Summer school applications are now available in Student Services on both campuses as well as on the school’s website. Applications must be signed by both the parent and student. Applications must be turned in to Student Services by June 26th in order to be considered for summer school.

Please note that our summer office hours will begin on Monday, June 15, 2015. Our summer office hours will be Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. with the front office closed from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. for lunch.

For students returning to Wakefield High School, we will begin sending information through the phone message system regarding schedules, parking, and off-campus lunch privileges near the first week of August. You can also view the school’s website for updates as they become available. Remember that students must pay their fines now before they are eligible for parking and off-campus lunch privileges. There will be limited availability over the summer, so it could be a week into the new school year before a student can drive to school or go off campus for lunch. Students/Parents should review fine notices that have been distributed several times over the last couple of months. Additionally, these privileges are only for juniors and seniors along with several other guidelines which will be provided at a later date.

As always, it’s all about the W! Have an awesome week. Goodbye.
