Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week is this week. Please join me in thanking the numerous faculty and staff members who work together for the betterment of Wakefield High School!
As we are in the last few weeks of school, please speak with your child on expectations with focusing on academics. We are finding more students not taking advantage of numerous SMART Lunch and Wolverine Watch activities available to them. Our faculty and staff can only do so much with many students showing more of an apathetic attitude. We know by working together we can see your child succeed and reach his/her full potential.
The 2015-2016 Official Notice of School Assignment was sent home with all returning students on Friday, May 1, 2015. Make sure you receive this information from your student. If the address is wrong on the assignment slip received, please contact our data manager to get information updated to avoid issues over the summer. If you are receiving this phone message and your child will not be returning to Wakefield High School next year, please contact our Registrar at 919-562-3664 in order to complete the withdrawal process.
All students who registered and paid to take AP exams should report to their designated locations at the assigned date and time beginning this week. This information was shared with all students on Wednesday and Thursday of this past week, and it is also on the information sheet students took with them from pre-administration sessions.
Media Center fine notices were handed out to students this past week. Be sure to check with your student to see if he/she received one. All fines and fees should be paid, and all lost or late books should be returned as quickly as possible. As a reminder to parents of rising juniors and seniors, students will not be able to get a parking pass or off campus lunch pass for next year if they owe any fines. Please take care of fines before leaving school in June.
Jostens will be on campus for a final delivery day on Tuesday, May 12th in the commons area during lunch to deliver cap and gown units as well as other senior products. All items must be paid for in full before students can receive their products. Online payments must be made 24 hours prior to the delivery date. Cash or money order only will be accepted on the delivery date. If you still need to place an order, go to trianglegrad.com.
The Wakefield Wolverine Club is accepting applications for the Wakefield Wolverine Club Scholarship Award. These six $500.00 scholarships are awarded to Senior Student Athletes that best exemplify the spirit of being a Wakefield Wolverine, in the classroom, on the field and in the community. Applications are due tomorrow.
Remember it’s all about the W! Enjoy the rest of your day, and let’s have an amazing week. Goodbye.
