Ms. Anderson

Occupational Therapist

Wake Occupational Therapy website

Hi! I am Laura Anderson and I am so excited to be part of the Olive Chapel family. I am passionate about supporting students’ individual needs and ensuring functional access and participation throughout all of a student’s school day. After growing up in Richmond, Virginia, I studied kinesiology and psychology at the College of William and Mary, and then received my doctorate in occupational therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University. I worked in the Hampton Roads area as a school-based occupational therapist for three years before deciding to move to Raleigh in 2024. I have served traditional schools in Wake County and am now enjoying the pace of year-round school. Outside of work, I like exploring my new city, spending time with friends and family, cultivating my houseplant collection, reading, and starting my days at Burn Boot Camp! I am looking forward to working with the OCE students and families this year!

Social Emotional Learning Support

eMail: cljenkins@wcpss.net

I am Christina Jenkins and am so happy to be officially a part of the OCES staff for the 2023-2024 school year, serving as the SEL Support teacher.  I will be at OCES on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Because I have two Master’s degrees (Counseling and School Leadership), I have served as a school counselor and later moved into administration work. After 31 years, I retired from WCPSS in 2017. All too soon, I realized I missed the school environment and working with students. Since then, I have filled a number of administrative interim and counseling positions, mostly in Apex area schools. OCE is an amazing school and I feel fortunate to be a part of this staff and school community.

My husband, John, and I have lived in Apex for 28 years and raised our two children here. Joshua and Samantha are grown and married now. We love visiting our kids whenever we can. I have a grand dog (Pixel) and a grand cat (Reggie). Baking is my favorite thing to do. John and I love taking weekends to hike and explore the waterfalls found in North Carolina.

I have 3 furry family members, Coco, Tucker and Teddy. When I'm not working, I enjoy time with my family and friends, cheering for the New York Yankees, jamming out to Taylor Swift, and traveling.
