I'm excited to be joining OCE! I graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Sciences and later earned my Master of Science in Counselor Education from East Carolina University. In 2020, I completed my Doctorate in Counseling and Counselor Education from North Carolina State University. I'm also a National Board Certified Teacher in School Counseling.

This is my 13th year as a school counselor. I am dedicated to creating and implementing a high-quality comprehensive school counseling program that provides both direct and indirect services to students. I enjoy finding innovative solutions to help students fully engage in their educational environment. I look forward to working with families and staff to support all students!

Social Emotional Learning Support

I am Christina Jenkins and am so happy to be officially a part of the OCES staff for the 2023-2024 school year, serving as the SEL Support teacher.  I will be at OCES on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Because I have two Master’s degrees (Counseling and School Leadership), I have served as a school counselor and later moved into administration work. After 31 years, I retired from WCPSS in 2017. All too soon, I realized I missed the school environment and working with students. Since then, I have filled a number of administrative interim and counseling positions, mostly in Apex area schools. OCE is an amazing school and I feel fortunate to be a part of this staff and school community.

My husband, John, and I have lived in Apex for 28 years and raised our two children here. Joshua and Samantha are grown and married now. We love visiting our kids whenever we can. I have a grand dog (Pixel) and a grand cat (Reggie). Baking is my favorite thing to do. John and I love taking weekends to hike and explore the waterfalls found in North Carolina.

I am so excited to join the OCE family! This is my 10th year as a school psychologist. My passion has always been in the elementary schools. I am originally from upstate New York, and I've called North Carolina home since 2014.  I graduated from the State University of New York at Oneonta with a degree in Psychology, and later earned my Master's in School Psychology from The College of Saint Rose. I have 3 furry family members, Coco, Tucker and Teddy. When I'm not working, I enjoy time with my family and friends, cheering for the New York Yankees, jamming out to Taylor Swift, and traveling.
