I am a North Carolina native, born in Beaufort County and raised in Chocowinity, NC. I am thrilled to be a part of the Swift Creek Elementary School family as I have spent many years working with children in after-school programs. I am the mother of one adult son, Damien and the Glam-ma of one sweet girl, Riley. I enjoy traveling, reading drama and mystery books, gardening, attending church and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala - Bachelor Degree in Secondary Education

I was born and raised in Guatemala, I have been living in NC for the past 5 years. 4 of them I’ve been working in Swift Creek, I’m married to my husband Mario and we have 2 daughters and one dog. 

It doesn’t matter which way I took, I ended up in the same one, education field.

I have had several job opportunities; and they are always related to education at different levels and languages (Spanish and/or English) There’s no doubt this is my passion.

When it comes to my students, I really feel identified with this quote by Maya Angelou: “Try to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud.”

BS in Recreational Therapy - Georgia Southern University

Kimberly is originally from Statesboro, Georgia, where she attended Georgia Southern University and earned a BS in Recreational Therapy in 2005.  After moving to North Carolina, Kimberly earned a degree in Nursing in 2011 and began working in pediatrics. She joined the Wake County School Health program in 2018 and has been working as a School Based Public Health Nurse since!  Kimberly joined the Swift Creek ES community in January of 2024 and has enjoyed getting to know the amazing staff and students.  Kimberly is happily married to her best friend of over 21 years, has 2 amazing children who keep her very busy, and in her "spare time" serves as VP for Myra's Angels Foundation, a local non-profit supporting homeless and foster youth in our community.
