My name is Sarah Graves and I am your healthful living physical education teacher at Swift Creek. My favorite place to be is at the beach or in a gym lifting weights! Mrs. Jennifer McIntyre - Art

Meredith College - Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art, K-12 Art Education

My name is Jennifer McIntyre and I am excited to return to Swift Creek for a second year. This will be my sixth year as an elementary Visual Art Teacher—I have also taught middle and high school, and I worked for several years for arts non-profits. I believe the greatest benefit of an arts education is the life-long skills that are developed by making and creating art. The greatest problem solvers are artists. It’s amazing what we can learn by manipulating materials with our hands.

This summer I spent two weeks immersed in the central Czech Republic with twenty area educators through an NCSU grant. The program enabled us to make connections with Czech educators, collections of Czech cultural artifacts, and reflect on Czech culture. If you would like to see my photographs and reflections, please go to https://czechccr.weebly.com/mcintyre-jennifer.html.

I live in Garner with my husband and three daughters, and two energetic German Short-haired Pointers.

Ms. Jazzmone Sutton - Music

University of North Carolina at Wilmington - Bachelor of Music in Music Education K-12

Since the day I was born, music has always been a part of my life. Music is even in my name. As an eastern NC native, I enjoy spending time in the country with my family and friends. My alma mater is the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where I obtained a Bachelor's of Music in Music Education with a focus in clarinet studies. After leaving UNCW, my teaching career began in Wilmington and continued for the next six years.

Outside of teaching, I'm passionate about advocating for music education. Currently, I serve as the President of the North Carolina Music Educators Association. As President, I get to travel and advocate with legislators and policymakers including meeting with U.S Representatives and U.S. Senators in Washington, D.C. (It's a highlight of my year.) When I'm not advocating or teaching music, I love to listen, dance and create my own music.

This will be my third year teaching music at Swift Creek.  I look forward to making music with Swift Creek.

Mrs. Stephanie Wils - Media Specialist

University of North Carolina at Greensboro - Master in Library and Information Studies
East Carolina University - Bachelor of Arts in English

I have been at Swift Creek since January 2017 and am looking forward to many more years! I spent about a decade in the bookselling business before I realized I wanted to be in another part of the book world and went back to school for my master's. I have spent most of my life in Eastern North Carolina, grew up in Carteret County, and currently, I live in Raleigh with my husband and twin daughters, who also attend Swift Creek. I'm also a huge Carolina Hurricanes fan! Getting to teach our awesome kids about reading for fun and learning, as well as exciting new ways to use technology, combine every day to make my job amazing.
