My name is Mrs. Kristin D’Amelio. I will be your child’s 4th grade ELA teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. I have two children. My son Sam is a seventh grader at DDMS and my daughter Ava, is a fifth grade SCES cougar! We also have a cuddly Goldendoodle named Scout. The beach is my happy place! I love to get lost in a great book while enjoying the sights and sounds of the beach! I enjoy exploring the beach at sunrise with my sweet Scout, watching the sun come up over a brand new day! I grew up in a small town on the north shore of Massachusetts. My parents and grandparents are and will always be my role models. I always wanted to be just like my dad, who was a teacher and principal for 37 years. This is my 18th year in the field of education and I am passionate about teaching and learning! I am excited to get to know you all as we become a close, strong knit school family. I am super excited to make this the best year yet!

I love teaching elementary students about how they can make a difference in their worlds now and in the future by integrating technology into the foundational core of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.  Finding authentic applications of learning makes learning interesting and a life-long goal.  Specifically learning new things that are hard and scary make more intriguing people.  As my mom used to say, "Only boring people are bored."  Find something new to learn everyday.

Hi everyone! My name is Lydia Stocks and I am happy to say that this is my first year teaching here at Swift Creek. There is no school at which I'd rather begin my teaching career. I am originally from Nashville, North Carolina, but moved to Raleigh to attend North Carolina State University. In May of 2019, I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education, but decided to complete one year of graduate school before jumping into my first classroom. To do this I moved to Laramie, Wyoming where the altitude is high and the humidity is low! Although I loved Wyoming, I am so thrilled to be back on the East Coast, specifically right here in the Swift Creek Community.

This year is going to be a special one, for too many reasons to count!  I cannot wait to learn alongside this staff and the wonderful students we serve.
