Hello All! I began my teaching career in 2014 in fourth grade and joined the Reedy Creek team in 2016.  I graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. During my last year at Penn State, I student taught for a whole year in a 3rd grade classroom through a prestigious program called, "Professional Development School."  When I have some free time I enjoy playing with my puppy Lexi, playing violin, running, dancing, and reading. When I get the chance I also enjoy traveling back to Pennsylvania to visit my family.

I am so excited to be teaching your child this year. I moved to the Raleigh area in 2016 from Maryland. I graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and taught fourth grade, fifth grade and math intervention before taking some time off to stay home with my children. My husband and I have four children. We also have a French bulldog named Stella. In my free time you can find me watching my oldest son on the lacrosse field, my younger son in the pool or my daughters dancing on stage. I also like to watch hockey (Let’s go Caps!) and read. I am looking forward to a great year!

My name is Robert Jones and I began my teaching career in 2013 back home in England! After three years of teaching in the UK, I moved to Swansboro, NC through the VIF International Teacher Program. Two years later, I moved to the RTP area, and began to teach at Reedy Creek! This will be my third year at the Creek!

Hello Reedy Creek students and parents. I am so excited to be joining the Reedy Creek family this year! I just relocated from San Diego, California with my husband, son, and three dogs. It was quite the road trip, but we are so excited to be here and enjoy all that beautiful North Carolina has to offer. I’ve been teaching since 2003, and recently  finished my Master’s degree. My teaching experience so far has been in 3rd, 5th and 6th — but now I’m finally getting the chance to teach 4th grade! I look forward to learning and growing together this year.

My name is Rachel van Schagen and I have been teaching since 2014. I started my career teaching 3rd grade in Pitt County after graduating from East Carolina University. I moved to Raleigh to be closer to family, so this is now my third year teaching 4th grade in Wake County. I was born in a small town in Canada, but grew up in Raleigh. I have a 4 year old lab mix named Maggie who I love spending time with when I am at home. I am a huge college football fan (Go Pirates!) and also love hockey. I enjoy working with all of my students and can't wait to have a wonderful school year!
