Reedy Creek/Academics and Programs/Meet the Team
Hello everyone! My name is Dominique Christianson and I’m so excited to join the Reedy Creek Family as a 4th grade teacher. I was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to North Carolina in 2015 to attend East Carolina University. I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a concentration in Elementary Science. I began teaching in 2019 in Pitt County also teaching 4th grade. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling, watching sporting events (mostly hockey and football), and spending time with family and friends. I’m looking forward to working with you and building meaningful relationships!
My name is Robert Jones and I began my teaching career in 2013 back home in England! After three years of teaching in the UK, I moved to Swansboro, NC through the VIF International Teacher Program. Two years later, I moved to the RTP area, and began to teach at Reedy Creek! This will be my third year at the Creek! When I'm not reaching, I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, or hanging out with my wife and our cats.
Hello! My name is Kayla McIntosh, and I am excited to be part of the fourth grade team at Reedy Creek Elementary. I am from the Syracuse, NY area. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Certification in Dual Childhood and Special Education from Le Moyne College in 2012, and my Master’s in Elementary Education from Le Moyne College as well in 2014. In 2014 I moved to Robeson County and taught fourth grade there for four years. I also worked in Cumberland County teaching fourth grade from 2018-2020. In June 2020 I had the opportunity to move to the Raleigh/Durham area which has led me to teaching at Reedy Creek Elementary. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my dogs, cooking, baking, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I am looking forward to working with all the staff, students, and families at Reedy Creek!
Hi there! My name is Nicole Trueheart and I have taught both 3rd and 4th grades in Wake County Schools for a total of 17 years. I received my BS in Child Development, K-6 Licensure and my Master’s in Education with a K-12 Certification in Reading from Meredith College in Raleigh. I started at Cary Elementary (where I also student taught!) for the first 7 years of my career and then moved closer to my home to teach at Pleasant Union Elementary for 10 years. I also earned my National Board Certification while at Cary Elementary. Both of my children are rising seniors, my son at Millbrook High School in Raleigh and my daughter at UNC Wilmington. I enjoy the beach, traveling and learning about new places, reading, running, more reading and hanging out with my family and furry kids, 2 dogs and 3 cats (I’d love to have 100 more pets but my husband thinks we have enough!) I’m looking forward to this new year and meeting all of my students and new teammates at Reedy Creek Elementary. I can’t wait to work with each and every one of my families to learn as much as we can together!
