Meet the Team
Lecia Cecconi-Roberts, AIG
I joined the staff as the AIG teacher in 2015. Before coming to Reedy Creek, I taught AIG for three years, also in Wake County. Prior to coming to North Carolina, I lived in southern California, Missouri and Michigan, where I taught elementary music and middle school band. I have degrees music performance and education from Wake Forest University, The University of Michigan and University of Missouri, with additional AIG certification from UNC-Charlotte. When I’m not at school, you can find me performing clarinet, flute, sax and bassoon with local musical groups, watching my daughter play volleyball (Division III indoor and beach at Penn State) or with my husband working on WWII airplanes. I thoroughly enjoy teaching elementary children and challenging them to work to their full potential with real world problems.
Diane Daughtry, Reading Intervention
I have been a Reading Specialist since 1978 and have taught at Reedy Creek for the last fifteen years. Although I have taught all ages of children, elementary is my favorite. I have a degree in history and reading education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My family and I, all UNC-Chapel Hill grads, enjoy attending and supporting Carolina football and basketball.
Rebecca Dean, Intervention
My name is Rebecca Dean and I am thrilled to join the staff at Reedy Creek Elementary! I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UNC Greensboro in 2012 and began teaching 2nd grade in Alamance-Burlington. I relocated to Charlotte, NC and continued to teach 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades from 2013-2021. During this time, I also received my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Winthrop University and served as a K-5 teacher assistant for a year to fully immerse myself in furthering my education. My husband and I are excited to explore all that Wake County has to offer with our sweet dogs, a dachshund named Walter and a great dane named Forest. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy singing, traveling to new places, and cheering on the Carolina Panthers!
