Meet the Team
Hello families! I have spent most of my life in and around New York City, but happily moved to North Carolina in 2015. I earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Brigham Young University and lived in Spain for 18 months during college. After spending some time at home with my 3 young children, I returned to school and earned a master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from Lehman College. I have been working with elementary aged children with a variety of speech and language disorders since 2015 and love working at Reedy Creek with our staff, students and parents! My family and I are raising 4 chickens and some fish. In my spare time I enjoy reading, sewing, and spending time with my family!
Hi Reedy Creek! I am Caitlyn Cottrill, and I joined the RCES family in 2020. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!) and moved to NC in 2016. I relocated from Charlotte where I taught elementary special education for four years. I graduated with dual bachelor's degrees in Early Childhood Education as well as Special Education. I also have a masters degree from Ball State University in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis & additional certificate in Autism. At home, I run a small business local vegan (& non-vegan) baking company. I also love to practice the piano, guitar, singing, and drawing. Feel free to follow my school instagram: @RCES_cottrill

In my spare time I enjoy running, playing with my two-year-old son, taking my black Labrador retriever for walks and spending time with friends and family.
Hello Reedy Creek Families! My name is Katie McCausland and I am excited to be joining the team as a CCR Teacher. I am originally from the Poconos, Pennsylvania. I received my degree in elementary education from Elizabethtown College in 2009.I moved to Onslow County, NC in 2012 to start my teaching career. There I worked predominantly as a special education teacher, and was honored to serve as my school’s Teacher of the Year for the 18-19 school year. When I’m not teaching, I love reading (especially Harry Potter, for the millionth time :-)), Netflix marathons, and spending time with loved ones. I look forward to getting to know and work with you this year!
Hi Reedy Creek families! My name is Jen Morris and I recently joined the Reedy Creek team as a CCR teacher in 2021. I graduated from Loyola University Maryland with a certification in general and special education before moving back home to Long Island, New York where I received my Master's Degree from Adelphi University in Literacy. I taught on Long Island for seven years where I had experience in both inclusion and self-contained classrooms. When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me reading, hanging by the pool or hiking with my husband and rescue pup! I'm looking forward to meeting and working with my students this year!
Hey Reedy Creek families! I joined the Reedy Creek staff in 2016, but I have been teaching since 2002. I am from western Pennsylvania where I attended and graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Special Education. I have taught special education at the elementary and middle school levels in Wake, Guilford and Forsyth counties. I have taught in self-contained, resource and inclusion classroom settings. My passion and focus is teaching students with autism. In my spare time, I love to run, hike or kayak to spend as much time as possible outside.
My name is Abby Tucker. I started teaching at Reedy Creek in 2021. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2019 with a Bachelors in Sustainable Development. I enjoyed the experience, but I decided to go into a different career for the time being! I am completing my masters at UNCC in Special Education: Adapted Curriculum. One day, I hope to combine my sustainability background with my passion for working with students with disabilities. While not at work, I enjoy spending time with my puppy, family, and friends, working in my garden, and thrift shopping.
