Principal's Message

  • Reedy Creek Families,

Happy New Year! We are now wrapping up the second quarter. The end of the quarter is January 27th. At this time of year, the students in Wake County are involved in mid-year IStation assessments in Reading in Grades K-3 and benchmark Reading assessments in Grades 4-5. All grade levels will have some form of mid-year math assessments and grades 3-5 will have NC Math Check-In assessments. The Reading and Math data will be very beneficial for teachers to make adjustments to their instruction and to provide students with resources. Your child’s teacher is always willing to share specific assessment information with you, so please feel free to ask if you have any questions on your child’s performance. Our second quarter report cards will go out on Friday, February 7th.

I want to give you a reminder that we will be out on Monday, January 20th for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Come join us for our 7th Annual International Night on Tuesday, January 28th. To participate in the potluck dinner, you can bring a dish to share that highlights your family’s heritage. We have our Family Summit #4, providing parents with insight as to how we currently teach Math. We hope you come join us for this great evening!! Also, students will not have school on Wednesday, January 29th. That is a teacher workday. Students do return on the 30th. Before we know it, we’ll be in February!
