Meet the Specialist Team!
(L-R: Mrs. Miragliuolo, Mrs. Breeze, Ms. Liu, Ms. Noblin)
I am a Northern girl who has come to prefer the warmer weather here in the South! I grew up in Connecticut and am one of 6 children. Our house was always busy and fun. My love of Art began at a very early age and in all forms! I sang, played piano, danced ballet and was always drawing, painting and building.
I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Sculpture before continuing on to their graduate program for Art Education. I received my National Board certification last year and taught several years in Pennsylvania and Maryland before moving to North Carolina.
This is my third year here at Kingswood. I run my classroom using the TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) or Choice-based pedagogy. A belief that the students are the artists and the classroom is their studio. I feel so lucky to be at a school where student choice, voice, independence and creativity is supported and encouraged.
When I’m not teaching, I love hiking, watching football and most of all traveling. My husband, Mike, is a teacher and coach at Green Hope High School. During our vacation times we TRAVEL! We have visited over 20 countries since we got married only 5 years ago. To me, nothing beats seeing the world, it’s beautiful sites, cultures, people and (of course) ART! I love being able to show pictures and stories of the places I have been with my students.
Hi Kingswood families! This will be my third year as the School Library Media Coordinator at Kingswood. I am originally from New York, and I earned my undergraduate degrees in English and French from Boston University. My graduate degrees in English Literature and Library Science are from UNC-Chapel Hill, and I also completed the school library licensure program at UNC-Greensboro. Like most librarians, I love books! I have worked in publishing and with rare printed materials in the past, but I really enjoy sharing the love of reading with students. I also love art, travel, and spending time with my husband, two children, and cat. I am looking forward to a great year at Kingswood!
Hello Kingswood Families! My name is Ms. Liu and this will be my 18th year at Kingswood. I am originally from Taiwan and came to the US when I was in 5th grade. I have a piano performance degree from UNC-Greensboro and a music education graduate degree from U. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have a Yorkie and she is 10 years old. I like to travel, play the piano and flute, and visit relatives in Taiwan when I get a chance. I'm looking forward to a musical year at Kingswood!!
Hi, I am Leigh Noblin the PE teacher at Kingswood for over 29 years. Kingswood has been my school home since I started teaching. I love this school because of its small size and close community. I love to travel, mostly to Mexico's beautiful beaches, but when I can't go there I am spending my time on the beaches of SC. My home away from home. I do like to travel in the US and internationally. I like to work in the yard and have projects to work on around the house. I also have to mini dachshunds. Navie Blu is 3 and Kallie Jo is a puppy. They love to play with each other, then take power naps and start all over again. We all love to lay in the sunshine!
