Meet the First Grade Team!
1st Grade Instructional Assistants
Hi there! My name is Theresa Jones and this is the start of my ninth year teaching at Kingswood Elementary School. I have taught Second and First Grade. I received my Montessori teaching diploma in 2014. I currently live Cary, NC with my husband, two daughters and our very active dog. My family and I enjoy traveling, hiking and going to visit our family!
I'm so excited to be teaching Virtual Academy this year for First Grade. I am a Montessori Certified Teacher and have am licensed for K-6. I hope to foster a love of learning through exploration and great discussions by tapping into our first graders' natural curiosity. I am a mom to a middle school son and we live in Cary with our three dogs.
Hello there! I am Ms. Richard and I am so excited to begin my first year of teaching! I graduated in May from North Carolina State University. GO PACK! I completed my student teaching at Kingswood last year in first grade, so I am really happy to be back and part of the Kingswood family. I am originally from New Bern, NC. My favorite thing to do is spend time at the beach with my family and my dog Perri.
I have been a teacher for 25 years. This is my 10th year at Kingswwod. I live in Apex with my husband, 3 children and two dogs. In my free time I like to read.
Hi! My name is Alicia Winer and this will be my 8th year at Kingswood. I teach a combination class of both Kindergarteners and 1st graders! My husband, Dan, and I got married a little over four years ago and we live in Garner with our cat, Sasha, and our goldendoodles, Penny and Parker! I adore my pups and talk about them ALL the time! I’m from High Point and have lived in NC my entire life; there’s nowhere I’d rather be. I love to hike and go camping in the mountains and I try to stay active. I enjoy working out and running. I also love spoiling my dogs (they have a vast supply of personalized bandanas)! I graduated from NC State with a degree in elementary education. At NC State I was apart of the Teaching Fellows program, the Scholars program, and I graduated as a valedictorian. Since then I have received my Montessori Diploma. I love working with children and challenging them to reach their full potential, both academically and emotionally. Teaching children is my pride and joy!
