Any tailgating events sponsored by official school organizations must be conducted under the supervision of a Wakefield staff sponsor. While we understand that tailgating has been a long-standing tradition, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students is our top priority.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain a safe and positive environment for everyone.

    Course Schedules for 24-25

Student course schedules are currently available in PowerSchool, though we are still adjusting and balancing schedules. The window for course change requests will be August 23-28. The form for making course changes is posted on the school website.  Course change requests will only be accepted through the form. Counselors will not accept emails or voice messages for a schedule change to ensure all requests are received and processed.

    Cell Phone Policy

To ensure an optimal learning environment, we are implementing a new policy regarding cell phones in the classroom. Students who bring cell phones to class will be required to turn them in at the beginning of each period. The phones will either be stored in designated phone pockets in the classroom or kept in students' book bags at the front of the room.

The only exception to this policy will be for students who require their cell phones for medical conditions that are monitored by an app.

Cell phones have proven to be a significant distraction in the classroom, and this policy is designed to help keep students fully engaged and focused on their studies.

Thank you for your understanding and support in maintaining a productive learning environment for all students.

Off-Campus Lunch  and Early Release Passes

As a reminder, students should carry their off-campus and early release passes on them at all times. Passes can be made before school, during lunch, and after school.

    Student Parking & Excessive Absences

Students who have a parking pass and accumulate five (5) or more unexcused absences in any class will have their parking privileges revoked for at least four-and-a-half (4.5) weeks. Attendance reports will be run during each interim week and at the end of every grading period. Absence notes should be submitted to the attendance office no later than two (2) days after the absence.

    New Student Orientation

WHS will host Freshmen Orientation on Monday, August 26, from 8:30-11:00 a.m. Details can be found on the WHS homepage.
