Posted by Joyce Deaton on 5/2/2025 7:00:00 AMWakefield High School Families,First, know that all students are safe. To keep you informed, I wanted to let you know about an incident that occurred on our school campus this week.
Tuesday afternoon, staff members were informed that a student was in possession of a pocket knife on campus. We immediately contacted WCPSS Security, and began an investigation.Since the initial report, administrators and WCPSS security have continued to conduct a thorough investigation and multiple searches. Today, administrators identified a student who was in possession of a soft bullet toy gun which was immediately confiscated. At this time, we have not found a pocket knife.Any student found in possession of a weapon on school grounds or one of our buses will be disciplined per district policies. I ask you to please be vigilant and monitor the activities of your child. The best means to keep schools safe is to maintain healthy and open relationships between adults and children at all times. Please remind your student they can always feel comfortable reporting matters that cause them concern to a teacher or administrator.
Students and parents can also report safety concerns to our anonymous tip line, (919) 856-1911.Know that we will continue to take every measure to ensure the safety of our students.Thank you for your continued support of our school, where it is All About “The W”! -

🛠️ AllTimely & PACK Time – What Parents Need to Know
AllTimely is the online platform students use to schedule PACK Time activities. Here’s how it works and how you can support your student:
-
✅ Students must sign up for at least one academic or enrichment activity per PACK Time day unless they have off-campus privileges.
-
🧠 Study Hall and Remediation take priority. If your student is assigned an academic support session, they cannot choose lunch or other elective sessions that day.
-
🕒 Students schedule for the entire week every Monday at 7:05 AM.
-
📋 Encourage your student to select sessions that align with their academic needs. Using PACK Time wisely supports our school-wide goal of 80% mastery in all courses.
🚨 Skipping PACK Time is treated like skipping class and will result in disciplinary action.
👕 Dress Code Reminders
With warmer weather, please help us remind students to follow the WCPSS Dress Code Policy. Key expectations include:
-
Clothing must fully cover undergarments at all times.
-
Shirts must cover the midriff, chest, and back.
-
Shorts, skirts, and dresses should be of appropriate length.
-
Clothing with offensive language, violent imagery, or references to drugs/alcohol is not permitted.
We appreciate your partnership in promoting a respectful and distraction-free environment for all students.
🎓 Other Important Updates:
-
Prom Tickets are on sale via GoFan—$60 through April!
