    Wakefield High School Families,

First, know that all students are safe. To keep you informed, I wanted to let you know about an incident that occurred on our school campus this week.

Tuesday afternoon, staff members were informed that a student was in possession of a pocket knife on campus. We immediately contacted WCPSS Security, and began an investigation.

Since the initial report, administrators and WCPSS security have continued to conduct a thorough investigation and multiple searches. Today, administrators identified a student who was in possession of a soft bullet toy gun which was immediately confiscated. At this time, we have not found a pocket knife.

Any student found in possession of a weapon on school grounds or one of our buses will be disciplined per district policies. I ask you to please be vigilant and monitor the activities of your child.

The best means to keep schools safe is to maintain healthy and open relationships between adults and children at all times. Please remind your student they can always feel comfortable reporting matters that cause them concern to a teacher or administrator.

Students and parents can also report safety concerns to our anonymous tip line, (919) 856-1911.

Know that we will continue to take every measure to ensure the safety of our students.

Thank you for your continued support of our school, where it is All About “The W”!
