Dear Conn Magnet Elementary School Families,     

National Volunteer Week: Thank you to all who have volunteered at Conn or have given back to our school CONNmUNITY! Our collaborative partnerships allow our students to receive high-quality, rigorous instruction each day. Thank you for all you do! 

Big Idea Week: We are thrilled to announce that our CONNtrepreneurs will be participating in our annual Big Idea Week competition next week. This event has become a special Entrepreneurial Design tradition! Students will be active problem-solvers as they utilize our IDEAS Design Thinking Cycle to discover their big ideas. Students will be forming unique solutions by developing a realistic product or service. Students will explore what makes a great product or business name and how to design a captivating logo. They will also have the opportunity to experience sharing, reflecting, and improving their ideas by creatively pitching their ideas to an audience. We look forward to all the innovation that is ahead for our little thinkers and their big ideas! 

Panorama Survey: Helping students do their best in school requires a team effort. Parents, students, and schools all play important roles in this process. Help us make students' school experiences as positive and beneficial as possible by filling out this Family Engagement Survey by May 17.  

PTA Updates: The PTA needs YOU! We are looking for new board members and committee chairs for the 2024-2025 school year. No experience needed! Please reach out to president@connpta.org if you are interested or have questions.    

Please join us for a fun family-friendly volunteer opportunity! We'll be working at the Food Bank of Central NC on Capital Boulevard from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 to sort and pack food donations for our community. Spots fill up fast, so please register ASAP if you are interested. Note that both children and adults need to be signed up to volunteer, which includes creating an account on the Food Bank website.    

Volunteers are needed to support hosting CONNival! We are looking for adult and middle/high school student volunteers. Please sign up today!
