Dear Conn Magnet Elementary School Families,
Single Subject Acceleration is the practice of assigning a student to a higher-grade level than is typical given the student's age for the purpose of providing access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities in either Language Arts or Mathematics. An SSA information meeting for interested parents will be held via Google Meet on Wednesday, February 28 at 8:00 a.m. The code for the meeting is meet.google.com/bxy-okwk-goe. The window to request testing is April 1-12, 2024, either via online or paper form. The online request form can be found on the SSA page in the AIG website link. The link will go live on April 1 and close on April 12 at 5:00 p.m. Paper forms can be requested from Nancy Hanley at nhanley@wcpss.net. If you would like your child to be tested, please plan on attending the meeting unless your child has been tested before.
IDEA Factory Supplies Needed: We continue having micro design challenges across all grade levels and we would greatly appreciate your support. If possible, please consider dropping off used water bottles, paper towel rolls, and toilet paper rolls.

Conn Cleanup: Join us for our monthly Conn cleanup on Tuesday, February 20 at noon, and then meet us at Brookside Bodega after! For those who volunteer, they are offering $1 off a treat of your choice.
Conn Cougar 5K + Wellness Event: Saturday, March 2 @ Conn near track- Race starts promptly at 9:00 a.m. (change in start time) Registration is now open! Set your New Year's wellness intentions and get moving with your Conn family! Conn's PTA also invites friends, family, and our extended community to take part in this event. Prefer not to walk/run the course... that's okay! We're teaming up with Alexander Family YMCA to bring our racers a pre-course stretch as well as those that choose not to walk/run, an interactive group movement/fitness experience!

- T-shirt pre-order deadline is Friday, February 16. T-shirts can be purchased through registration or PTA's store at https://linktr.ee/connpta.

- PTA does not want cost to be a barrier to participating. Use code RUN4CONN for no cost race registration (open for use by Conn families and staff).
