National Entrepreneur Month: November is National Entrepreneur Month and we are reaching out to individuals who might be interested in creating a short podcast or video for YouTube capturing our Magnet Entrepreneurial Design theme of:

What was the problem you identified that mattered to you and inspired you to start your business?
Sounds fun, right?! Our goal is to capture as many audio messages for a podcast and video clips for a YouTube movie by Tuesday, November 22. Please email our Magnet Coordinator, Mr. Gridley, at dgridley@wcpss.net for details.
Scholastic Book Fair: The Scholastic Book Fair is here! Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become bolder, prouder, and stronger readers. Every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
We are excited to invite you to our Scholastic Book Fair hosted by our PTA and Media Specialist, Ms. Brick. Here’s what you need to know about the fair, which opens next week in the media center:
This year, say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet- your child’s digital payment account. Set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your children more books to enjoy.
If you can’t make it to the fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school. Visit our Media Center's Website for more information. Catch you at the fair!
Literacy Night: Please join us on Wednesday, November 16 for Literacy Night. The Book Fair will be open throughout the entire evening from 4:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the media center. Children must remain with their families for this event. We look forward to seeing our students and families!

Families will visit classrooms from their child’s grade level team. For example, if you have a 2nd grader, please visit all 2nd grade classrooms. Each classroom will offer a different opportunity, such as games, enrichment, remediation, takeaways, and more! |

TSI Notification: Conn Magnet Elementary has been designated as a Targeted Support & Improvement Additional Targeted Support (TSI-AT) school by the North Carolina State Board of Education. As stated in ESSA Section 1111(d)(2), North Carolina had to identify schools for targeted support and improvement. Please click here for more information.
