Principal Message (1/9/22)
COVID, Exams, and Buses
Heading into exam week, we are fully prepared that COVID exposures and symptoms may impact exams next week; including bussing.
Staying Home:
Please stay home if you are sick or have COVID symptoms.
Test Positive:
If you test positive, please email Mr. Darren Williams, Assistant Principal, at dwilliams7@wcpss.net.
WCPSS Information:
Use this link HERE to access additional COVID information from WCPSS.
Buses:
COVID is impacting bus driver shortages. We encourage families to check the status of buses HERE or the Here Comes the Bus App.
Exams:
If you have symptoms or test positive, please do not come to school until you have fulfilled the quarantine requirements. Teachers will work with you, to every extent possible, about making up exams. If you are unable to make up exams this week or on the teacher workday, then we will have a default window on January 20 and 21.
Final Grades and Report Cards
If you were able to take all of your exams during exam week, teachers will have final grades recorded in PowerSchool by January 19. Due to COVID, report cards will be distributed on Monday, January 31 during Advisory.
Exam Tips
These are some basic tips for a successful exam week:
- Eat a healthy breakfast and go to sleep in a timely manner
- Please bring your WCPSS chrome book to school fully charged
- Arrive at school on time
- Lunches will be served
- Afternoon review sessions are optional
- Buses will run at 2:18
- When students are dismissed from their exam, they are allowed to be checked out from the cafeteria

The Gator Service Club will be accepting new socks, and new to slightly used jackets, t-shirts, pants, and sweatshirts. Donations can be dropped off in the big box in the front lobby.
Mod Pizza:
The UNICEF Club will be hosting a fundraiser at MOD Pizza at Amberly Place off of Green Level Church Rd., on February 3rd. When you make a purchase at MOD Pizza, make sure to state you are participating in the GLHS UNICEF food drive, and a percentage of each order will be donated to the UNICEF Club of GLHS.
