Last Call for Course Correction Forms

 

The last day to complete a “Course Correction Form” for the spring semester is Monday, December 6 by 3:00 pm.  No late requests will be accepted.  All forms must have the student and parent/guardian acknowledgment to be considered – student must use their WCPSS email address for consideration.  All course corrections able to be accommodated will be completed and adjustments will be displayed in PowerSchool by Friday, December 17th.   

 

Course corrections can be requested for the following reasons:   

  • Scheduled for less than four courses, i.e. missing a class, two courses in the same period 
  • If you are a senior and a course is needed for graduation 
  • Scheduled for a course where you have already received credit 
  • Missing a pre-requisite course 
  • Failure of a course 
  • Requesting a level/rigor change (if scheduling allows/on case by case basis) Example:  English III Academic <-> English III Honors <-> AP English Language & Composition  

 

If a course correction is approved, the change will be reflected in PowerSchool. If the course correction is not able to be accommodated, the schedule will remain the same in PowerSchool. Requests by phone or email cannot be honored. Requests for specific teachers cannot be honored. Duplicate and additional forms will not be accepted. The Student Services staff members are not available for appointments regarding course correction requests. 

 

 


Last Call for Course Reduction Forms

 

The last day for Juniors and Seniors to complete a "Schedule Reduction Form" is Monday, December 6 by 3:00 pm. This form is for upperclassman who are taking CCP courses with Wake Tech.  Complete this form if you are requesting to eliminate a course or courses from your schedule leaving you with a reduced schedule (meaning less than 4 classes) at Green Level. Students must have a valid reason for requesting a schedule reduction and will be required to attach documentation of that reason on the form.  Students are required to maintain at least 2 classes at Green Level and may not request to remove their 2nd period for any reason.  All accommodated changes will be displayed in PowerSchool by Friday, December 17th. 

 

 


PTSA Meeting

 

We are holding our monthly PTSA meeting on Wednesday, December 8 at 6:30 pm in the media center.  The meeting is open to all parents.

 

 


Choral Concert

 

Hope to see you at this week's GLHS Chorus Winter Concert on Thursday, December 9 at 7:00 pm in the auditorium. Admission to the performance is $5 at the door. Get your holiday season started with beautiful and inspiring music! See you there!

 

 


First Semester Exams

 

Green Level High School's Fall semester final exams will take place in person the week of January 10 - January 14. If you are scheduled to take an EOC or CTE exam, please be sure that you bring your charged Wake County school-issued Chromebook. You will not be able to test on a personal device.  To prepare accordingly, we need all students (one survey per student) to complete the Final Exam Survey.  

 

 


Spirit Wear

 

PTSA will be selling spirit wear at lunch the next two Wednesdays (December 8 and December 15). We will accept cash or credit.  Also, the last day to purchase spirit wear online and receive it before the holidays is Wednesday, December 15th. Mandated Human Trafficking  Curriculum

 

Student Services will be providing the state-mandated Human Trafficking curriculum for students in the Healthful Living classes from December 10th through December 15th. A letter will be provided to students in class explaining the program further, and the materials for the lesson can be accessed HERE.   If you wish to opt your child out of the program and/or have any questions/concerns, please email Mr. Rob McAuliffe, our SAP counselor,  at rmcauliffe@wcpss.net by Thursday, December 9th.  

 

 


 Adopt-A-Highway

Moe’s Spirit Night

 

Mark your calendar for the next Fine Arts Booster Spirit Night at Moe's on Thursday, December 16, 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. Just mention that you are supporting the Green Level Fine Arts Boosters and they will donate 15% of your purchase to us! Our local Moe's is located at 5020 Arco Street, Cary. Student vs Staff Basketball Game

 

Mark your calendar for December 16 at 7:00 pm in the Main Gym for our staff vs student basketball game!  🙂 Tickets are 5 dollars and all donations will be donated to a local charity.   Please click on this link to sign up for this event!

 

 


Feminine Hygiene Drive

 

The Gator Service Club is hosting a feminine hygiene drive to support the No Women, No Girl Initiative of Wake County. Please drop off donations in the main hallway, near the stairwell through December 17.

 

 


Toys for Tots Drive

 

Our student-athletes are collecting toys to deliver to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.  Please drop off an unwrapped toy now through December 17 in the box labeled at the front entrance of the school.

 

 


Information for Seniors

 

2022 Class Picture: 

On Monday, December 6 we are asking all senior Advisory classes to join us on the football field to take a class picture. Mr. Myers will direct everyone to spell out 2022.

 

 

AP Class Exemptions:

Semester AP Courses: 

Seniors can be exempted from an AP exam if he/she meets the criteria above.

 

Year-Long AP Courses: 

Seniors are not exempt from a mid-term exam; but, can be exempted from the final exam in June. 

 

 

SAC Dates

On the first Wednesday of each month, parents, students, and staff will meet in the media center at 6:00 pm to discuss “Senior Activities.”  Mark your calendar for future dates:
