Updates Regarding the Return to In-Person Instruction
As we shared last week, the Wake County Board of Education approved a plan for students not enrolled in the Virtual Academy to return to schools on a rotation schedule beginning the week of February 15. For GLHS, this means that
- Special Education Regional Programs: Return to Daily in-person instruction
- Plan A/B/C Students: Return in three-cohort rotations, starting with Cohort 2

- Monday, Feb 8: Eating and Drinking Guidelines
- Tuesday, Feb 9: Updates to Programs and Services (i.e. Transportation, Child Nutrition, Food Delivery, etc.)

Cohort Rotations:
We have posted cohort rotation schedules through the end of third quarter. If changes are made to the cohort rotations for the fourth quarter, we will share that information as soon as it is available. Use this link HERE to see what weeks you attend school for in-person instruction. Special Note: Due to the ACT, high schools have an Asynchronous Day on Tuesday, February 23.
Bell Schedule:
Beginning Wednesday, February 17, we will switch to the “In-Person and Online Learning Bell Schedule.” We highly encourage everyone to review these schedules posted HERE.
Health Attestation Forms:
Families will also receive a notification with bus route information regarding their student’s Health Attestation status. Students without valid Health Attestation Forms will receive information that action is required to complete the one-time attestation. Families can submit the form 2 ways:

2. Print copy HERE and return to form to GLHS Front Office

Change Requests To/From VA From/To Plan A/B/C
We understand that some families are interested in changing from Virtual Academy to In-Person Learning and vice versa. If you want to do this, please email Judy Miller at jmiller3@wcpss.net. At this time, we are simply collecting requests. Please understand that we will make things work for you and your family; regardless if we can officially change it in the system or not.
Tuesday/Thursday Connectivity
This is the last week that we will be fully remote. Beginning February 17, Connectivity will move from the afternoon time slots to 8:45 am to 9:35 am. A complete list of clubs/organizations offered at GLHS can be found HERE. As a reminder, students must register for all Connectivity sessions in AllTimely to access the meeting links. In addition to our weekly clubs listed HERE, we are offering the following special sessions. Once again, students will need to register in AllTimely.

Yearbook Message:
Did your student miss picture day? The Equilibrium Yearbook staff is excited to share that Jostens has created a way for you to submit your own picture for your student’s portrait with YBK+! We know you have questions! Parents, please check your email for an email from Jostens with specific information about how to upload a portrait for your students OR check out the Yearbook page of the school website (under Activities).
National Honor Society (NHS) Interest Meeting
We are hosting an NHS interest meeting for all sophomores and juniors who have a 3.6 or above-unweighted GPA and are interested in joining/learning more about NHS. The interest meeting will be on February 11 at 3:00 pm. Students should sign up in Alltimely.
Cleaning Supply Drive
Our HOSA Club (Health Occupations Students of America) needs your help in collecting cleaning supplies such as detergents, disinfectants, hand soap, paper towels, dish soap, sponges, etc… HOSA donating these items to the Carolina For The Kids Foundation. Please drop off any cleaning supplies at the main entrance to our school from February 16 through February 19
Animal Shelter Supply Drive
Our FFA Club (Future Farmers of American )is sponsoring an Animal Shelter Supply Drive. Please donate any animal supplies from February 19 to 28 at the main entrance to the school.
Meal Benefit Application
Yes, meals will still be free for all students through June 2021 but we still need you to complete a meal benefits application so our school can be eligible for this extra funding next year. Information about applying for Meal Benefits for the 2020-21 school year can be found at www.wcpss.net/Page/1849. Help our school continue to receive this funding by completing an application online at MySchoolApps.com. Paper applications can be requested by calling 919-588-3535.
ACT Information
All juniors are required to take the ACT on February 23, 2021 at Green Level High School. Due to this requirement, all GLHS staff will be needed to administer the ACT to juniors in small group settings. Hence, the need to change February 23 from an in-person to an Asynchronous Day. Ms. Hailey will communicate more information next week.
Career Connections 2021 Fair
Career and Technical Education will be celebrating CTE Month by hosting Career Connections 2021 on February 24, 2021 for students grades 8-12. The virtual event using Booth Central will kick-off at 9:00 am with a wide selection of 30-minute career readiness workshops hosted by WCPSS Career Development Coordinators. From 11:00- 12:00, students will have the opportunity to meet virtually with industry professionals during an Industry Fair showcasing the 16 Career Clusters. Registration Link is HERE!
