As of today, Mr. Beamish and I have seen all 1st-5th grade students in a grade level assembly where we have reviewed our GOLD expectations. Thank you for supporting your child with their behavioral success at school so that learning for them and all other students can be maximized each day!

August 28, 20221st Day of School Preparations and Reminders! Yeah!We are so very excited to start the 2022-23 school year with your students and your family! We loved seeing you all at the Open House/Meet the Teacher events last week.
Tomorrow is our 1st day of school for all 1st-5th Graders and Kindergarten staggered entry for those with last names A-C.
The front doors will open for building access at 8:45am. Please wait on the front porch if you arrive prior to 8:45am. Only bus riders will be entering the building from side doors- all others must enter the building through the front doors of the school.
There will be a 1st Day of School Photo Spot available for families on the front porch while you wait- so bring your camera if you are coming!
Expect traffic and waits to get into the parking areas and into the school- as the first day of school is the busiest day of the year!
At FWES, family members have permission to walk to the classroom with your student each morning between 8:45am-9:15am. We welcome you into our school but ask that you respect our expectations:
-
Families who wish to walk with students must enter at the front doors only.
-
Families who walk to classrooms must exit the building (not the classroom) by 9:15am as our instructional day begins.
-
When you arrive at the classroom, please do not interrupt or distract the teacher. The primary responsibility of the teacher during this time is the students. If you have information to share with the teacher it should be in a written note that can be handed to the teacher with your email and phone number if follow up is needed. The arrival time is NOT a conference opportunity.
-
Please allow your child to have independence by allowing them to carry their own belongings to the classroom and following the teacher directions about what to do with the belongings upon arrival.
-
Please quickly wish your child a great day and then leave the classroom so your child can start their day and you can start yours:)
-
After the 1st week of school, families will not be allowed to walk to classrooms if you arrive after 9:05am to insure that all visitors have exited by 9:15am each day.
We enjoy the opportunity to interact with families during arrival and appreciate your cooperation with our expectations!
