    Welcome to the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) family! Regardless of life circumstances, AVID students overcome obstacles and achieve success. They graduate and attend college at higher rates, and more importantly, they think critically, collaborate, and set high expectations to conquer the challenges that await them confidently. In 47 states across the U.S., PreK-16 educators are driving student success by creating engaging, rigorous, and student-centered learning environments.

  • AT EAST WAKE MAGNET HIGH SCHOOL THE AVID ELECTIVE:

    • Is paired with an Honors Course each year to ensure RIGOR
    • Students visit the Spark Lab to complete high-interest technology-based modules that allow them to work towards an extra high school credit
    • Research colleges, universities, and career programs offered that would best fit their future.
    • Visit colleges and universities.
    • Complete community service projects
    • Participate in AVID tutorials that teach collaboration as well as skills to help them reach their full potential in any class.
