Joint Custody for Dual Stop Request Process:
Parents with Joint Custody arrangements seeking dual bus stops, please complete the Joint Custody Dual Stop Request Form 2024-25 and send the original to Dan Hall dhall3@wcpss.net
- All three of the following items MUST be verified. If any one of these requirements is not met, the request will be denied:
- A copy of the joint custody agreement. A hard copy or electronic (GHHS will have to keep a copy on file)
- Verification of both parent addresses (Ex. Utility Bill)
- Parents will need to complete and turn in the following completed document: Joint Custody Dual Stop Request Form 2024-25
Once received, the transportation department will review the request to determine if it can be accommodated. The review will include:
• Confirming both bus stops are in the school’s base assignment area.
• Determining if there is an existing route and bus stop to support the request.
• And if there is an existing route and stop, determine if there is capacity on the bus.
Routes change during the first 30 days of school and ridership patterns change as well. Our ability to know if we can accommodate the request cannot be made until routes are finalized and ridership capacities determined.
The transportation department will then be responsible for communicating the approval or denial of the request.
If approved, the assigned dual bus stops are only for the current school year.
