    Career Conversation on ROTC - Military College Scholarships

    On Tuesday, 01/07/2020 during A lunch in room 2218 students are invited to a Career Conversation with GHHS graduates Griffin Matsuo and Doug Smith who are ROTC recipients. In addition, we will be joined by retired Navy Captain Steven Gillespie who will tell us about The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) - a college program offered at more than 1,700 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U.S. Military. Students may earn tutorial credit by attending the Career Conversation and signing in. Questions should be directed to Ms. Barone cbarone@wcpss.net


    Coach Bob Pittard Scholarship

    Interest Meeting - December 17th 1st half of lunch in main gym

    The value of the scholarship(s), which may be renewable for up to four years, will be a minimum of $12,500 per academic year. Pittard Scholars must apply and meet scholarship requirements to be eligible for funding for each year they continue enrollment in a college/university. 

    To be considered for The Coach Bob Pittard Scholarship, all applicants must meet the following criteria:

    Graduating senior of Apex High School or Green Hope High School
    Lettered in at least one full season of a varsity sport (including cheerleading) at the above-named schools;
    Demonstrated achievement in academics, leadership, and community service;
    Citizen or legal resident of the United States;
    Working toward a degree at an accredited two-year or four-year institution.

    Application available January 15th via WakeEd Partnership and school websites and due February 3rd. If you have questions about the application process/scholarship, please contact Jessica Merry (jmerry@wcpss.net) or Chad Smothers (csmothers@wcpss.net).
