Schools and organizations across the country observe the month of October as National Bullying Prevention Month. Our goal is to encourage our school community to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on our students.
October 3rd-Blue Shirt Day: Students and staff will wear blue in support of World Day of Bullying Prevention, a campaign of Stomp-Out Bullying
October 7th-Positive Post-It Notes: During lunch, students are invited to participate in our give-a-note, take-a-note project. These positive messages written on a post-it note may be just the cure for a student in need of a pick-me-up.
October 11th-Mix-It-Up Lunch: During A lunch, students will be directed to sit with new or different friends. They must remain in these seats for all of lunch! Participants who complete the exit ticket will be entered into a raffle for treats for their third period class!
October 17-October 21st: Anti-Stigma Campaign-Student Services proudly supports DECA, as they encourage WFHS students to sign a pledge to free their minds of prejudice and discrimination surrounding mental illness. The pledge will be available to sign during lunch periods throughout the week. Click HERE to sign the Anti-Stigma Pledge.
October 27th: Door Decorating Competition-Decorate your door with your third period classes. Be as creative as possible-- even tie it into your curriculum! Keep doors themed to Bullying Prevention or Anti-Stigma.
