Hello Carpenter Families,  

My name is Deanna Darcy, and I am the Instructional Facilitator and Literacy Coach here at Carpenter. This will be my 8^th year working at Carpenter Elementary and my 12^th year in education.  I graduated from Dowling College in NY, with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I added Elementary Education and Teaching Reading K-12 to my license after falling in love with literacy education and support in the early and upper elementary grades. I currently live in Raleigh with my husband, our 1-year-old son, and our two dogs. My work at Carpenter includes supporting administrators, teachers, students, and parents.  My role at Carpenter provides me with a unique opportunity to work alongside teachers and students as we cultivate learning together.
