Mrs. Stewart serves as a second grade teacher at Hunter. She first joined the Hunter community as a parent when the oldest of her two daughters began Kindergarten. Before her children were born, Mrs. Stewart spent many years as a Wake County magnet school teacher during which time she earned her National Board Certification, served as a mentor to new teachers, and wrote elective curricula for magnet programs. Mrs. Stewart loves to see students learn to work together to take on challenges and solve problems. She enjoys teaching all subjects, but especially loves teaching writing and math because they allow her to gain insight into students’ thinking and interests! In her free time, she can often be found exploring downtown museums or greenway trails. She loves to travel, especially to the beach.
