We are thrilled that you are interested in our award-winning Hunter Gifted and Talented/Academically Intellectually Gifted Basics Magnet Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year!

The application period for WCPSS Magnet Schools is open from October 16-January 25, 2024. Tours are available from October 25-January 24.  Mark your calendars for the WCPSS Magnet Fair being held at Garner Magnet High School on November 4, 9am -12 pm.  Hunter will have a booth with the GT/AIG Magnet elementary schools. We invite you to join us at 1018 East Davie Street to visit Hunter ES Gifted and Talented/AIG Basics Magnet Elementary School! Hunter will host tours/Q&A beginning October 25, 2023-January 24, 2024. Tour sessions will include a welcome, a brief information session highlighting our magnet theme, interaction with parents/students/staff, a tour of the building showcasing our elective/core classes in action, and a Q&A time. Tours will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on questions/interests.
