    "Helping Children Read Unknown Words" - Presentation  (Kindergarten)

    • Families will learn how to decode unknown words by chunking
    • How to utilize reading strategies
    • How to practice sight words

    "How to Have Math Conversations at Home" - Presentation (Kindergarten)

    • Families will understand what "Math Talk" is all about.
    • Families will understand how to use the problem solving strategy, RIDD, (Read, Imagine, Decide, Do)
    • Families will learn math practice strategies to use at home.

     

    "How to Coach (not resuce) When Reading" - Presentation (1st Grade)

    • Families will learn how to use reading strategies at home when reading with their children.

     

    "How to Solve Word Problems Using the Strategies Taught in Class" - Presentation (1st Grade)

    • Families will learn how to use several different math strategies to support their child at home.  

     

    "Addition Strategies and and How to Help Your Child at Home" - Presentation (2nd Grade)

    • Families will learn several addition strategies to help their child at home.  

     

    "Growth Mindset:  Building Your Child Up Without Building Anxiety" - Presentation (2nd Grade)

     

    "How to Help Your Child Understand Unfamiliar Words" - Presentation (3rd Grade)

    • Families will learn the “new way” to multiply and divide.

     

    "Google Classroom in 4th Grade" - Presentation (4th Grade)

    • Families will learn how to navigate their student’s Google account to help support them in school and at home.

     

    "Engaging Your Child in Conversations About Complex Texts and Making Real World Connections at Home" - Presentation (5th Grade)

     

    "Learning Science Vocabulary and Preparing for the Science EOG" - Presentation (5th Grade)

    • Families will be given information that allows them to practice science vocabulary with engaging paper-pencil and technology games.

     

    "Physical Activity to Support Math and Reading at Home" - Presentation (All Grades)

    •  Families will learn to play math and reading fluency games for all grade levels.

     

    "Supporting Your Performer With Practice at Home" - Presentation (1st - 5th Grades)

    • Families will learn new ways to motivate their child to practice at home

    •  Families will learn strategies to help their child reflect on their performances

     

    "How to Help Your Child Choose  'Just Right' Books at the Public Library" - Presentation (All Grades)

    • Families will walk away with information about local public libraries and have information about checking out books.

    • Families will learn strategies to find books they can read with their student AND how to pick the best books.

     

    "Digital Supports:  Pebble Go and Google Classroom at Home" - Presentation (K, 1st, 2nd Grades)

    • Parents will become familiar with the digital resource Pebble Go, how to log-in, and its features.
    • Parents will learn how to access and log in to their child's Google Classroom Account.

     

    "Using Big Universe and Google Classroom at Home" - Presentation (3rd, 4th, 5th Grades)

    • Parents will learn about the online library Big Universe available to students, how to log-in and additional features including book making tools. 
    • Parents will learn how to access and log in to their child's Google Classroom Account.

     

    "Managing Childhood Stress" - Presentation

    • Families will be given information on how the brain handles stress. They will walk away with a useful tool (calm down jar) to use at home. (All Grades)

     

    "Growth Mindset Keeps Us Afloat" - Presentation (1st Grade)

    • Families will understand what Growth Mindset is and be given book suggestions and phrases to use at home.

    "Social and Emotional Needs of the Gifted Learner" - Presentation (3rd, 4th, 5th Grades)

     

    "Preparing for Middle School" - Presentation (5th Grade)

    • Families will learn about timelines and applying for middle school.
    • Families will learn how students will "sign up" for electives / classes in specific middle schools.
    • Families will learn strategies for supporting their child throughout the transition to middle school.
