The Middle Creek High School Science Department strives to offer a wide range of courses and extracurricular activities to contribute toward a successful high school career. State standards require all students to complete an Earth/Environmental course, a Biology course, and a Physical Science course (Chemistry, Physics, or Physical Science).
Additionally, the Science Department offers a wide variety of electives and AP courses including: AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics, Honors Anatomy and Physiology, and Forensics. Extracurricular clubs with a science focus include Science Honor Society, Science Olympiad, Marine Biology and HOSA. The Middle Creek High School Science Department focuses on the unifying concepts of science to inspire our students and to help them become knowledgeable citizens that contribute their educational experiences toward making life-changing decisions for themselves, their families, and the community now and in the future.
The Science Department supports Wake County’s vision that all WCPSS shareholders will have equitable opportunities to learn and grow in scientific content and understanding. Together we value collaborative environments that support advanceing scientific literacy in a changing world.
The Science Department works closely with the Engineering & Design Academy (E&D) to build on students interests in the fields of science, engineering, and technology.
