Principal's Weekly Message, 10-11-24
Greetings LRMS Families,
I hope you've enjoyed the week. Here are your Weekly Updates:
1. Next week is a four-day week for students. There is no school on Monday, 10/14 for Wake County's recognition of Indigenous People's Day.
2. Events Next Week:

3. Supply Drive to Support Western North Carolina Relief Efforts - a contingent of staff, students and community members are organizing a supply drive next week. Here are the details:
Next week LRMS will be collecting canned food and other non-perishable items for the victims of Hurricane Helene. Especially needed items are bottled water, baby wipes and hygiene products. Donations can be dropped off to homerooms next week on Tuesday, October 15 through Friday, October 18. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

4. Here are a few more resources from PBS if you would like to extend your students' learning about Native American Heritage Month.
5. Join our PTSA and other volunteers from a local church for a campus beautification day on Saturday, October 26 from 9am-11:30am. All three Leesville schools will be hosting volunteer efforts to improve the grounds, courtyards and entrances. Thanks in advance for considering!
6. For any families previously receiving meal benefits, previous applications ended today, October 12. If you need to re-apply for meal benefits, please visit the CNS website here.

The Fall Giving Drive is closing tomorrow evening and we urgently need additional dollars to fund all our amazing activities for this school year. Everyone who donates through midnight tonight will be entered to win gift cards from Chick-fil-A, Assiagos and Salt & Lime.
Each grade will crown a home room winner with highest total donations. Who will win the donut party?
6th grade: 1st place - McNamara, 2nd place - Matonic 7th grade: 1st place - Simmons, 2nd place - Friesen 8th grade: 1st place - Herzing, 2nd place - Riccicuti
