    Mr. Richard Harris

Hi, I'm Mr. Harris and I am excited about being the Career Development Coordinator (CDC) for Leesville Road Middle School. Middle school students are offered exploratory courses in business and information technologies, life skills, technology systems, and career decisions. I believe great things happen when students can make school-to-work connections.

As your CDC, I am here to assist student’s grades 6-8 with Career Planning & Exploration. My goal is to help you make informed and thoughtful decisions about your future. I look forward to collaborating with the Leesville community's students, parents, educators, and businesses. Together we can prepare our children to be productive citizens to function in a global society.

CDCs support Career and Technical Education (CTE) and coordinate career development services for students participating in CTE. CDCs facilitate linkage with parents, businesses/industries, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations to support students' transition to postsecondary education and employment.

The CDC's responsibilities incorporate the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, National Career Development Guidelines, the National Model for School Counseling Programs, and Future-Ready Students For the 21st Century. Specific Career Development Coordinator responsibilities include:
